We, Laura Vandenberg and Victor Karanja, the authors of this website hope that this site will help students discover their individual learning styles and adopt strategies that support that style.

As the title suggests, this is a study about how laptops enhance learning for auditorial, kinesthetic, and visual learners.  The use of a laptop in the classroom affects each of these learning types differently.

The laptop is the companion and the study buddy for the auditory learner. It is the movie and telecaster for the visual learner and it is the test machine and practice tool for the kinesthetic learner.

A tour of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) campus reveals all of the three types of learners at work. The laptop has truly revolutionalized the learning environment.

On the negative side, laptops can be distracting in class.  A kinesthetic learner working on a catchy illustration will distract a keen-listening auditory learner. The pounding of the keypad during MSN messaging can be very distracting.
